Job summary

SINTEF Industri is seeking a Senior Scientist in Bioprocess Engineering and Scale-Up to lead development and scale-up of biological production processes at Trondheim's pilot facilities. The role interfaces between research and industry, applying fermentation, downstream processing, and scale-up expertise to sustainable bioprocesses and bio-based production systems.

You will drive pilot and demonstration campaigns, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to project acquisition

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioprocess Engineering or related field.
• Experience in fermentation process development and scale-up.
• English proficiency; written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale up fermentation processes for industrial implementation.
• Plan and execute pilot-scale and demonstration-scale fermentation campaigns.
• Collaborate with industrial customers, technology providers, and research partners.
• Contribute to process modeling and techno-economic assessments.
• Supervise PhD candidates, MSc students, and junior researchers.
• Contribute to project acquisitions and proposal development.
