Hurtigruten, a world‑leading travel brand, is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to help redesign and modernize its booking ecosystem. You will design and build secure, scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-native components on Azure, while shaping how AI tools are used in delivery.

You will collaborate across architects, frontend engineers, product teams and DevOps, drive best practices, and mentor fellow engineers through knowledge sharing and architectural discussions.

Competenze

• Senior backend developer with strong design and implementation experience.
• Experience building scalable, secure backend services.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and Azure.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

What You'll Be Working On

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in redesigning and modernizing our booking ecosystem.

You will:

• Design and develop secure, scalable, and high-performing backend services
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Claude Code to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for code quality and security
• Help shape how the team adopts and gets the most out of AI tools in our development workflow
• Build and maintain APIs that support customer-facing products and business-critical integrations
• Contribute to the evolution of our cloud-native architecture on Azure
• Collaborate with architects, frontend engineers, product teams, and DevOps specialists
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement
• Participate in technical design discussions and architectural decision-making
• Mentor and support fellow engineers through knowledge sharing and collaboration
