Job summary

What you will do
  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of our next-generation Azure-based data platform.
  • Design and execute the roadmap for moving from on-prem to cloud, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Work directly with the CTO to define best practices for cloud data management, governance, and performance.
  • Architect data flows and pipelines that can handle large and cross-domain datasets.
  • Integrate APIs and enable cross-system communication between legacy and cloud-based applications.
  • Build a resilient data infrastructure that empowers analytics, AI, and product innovation.
  • Act as a technical sparring partner across teams, guiding developers, data engineers, and product owners.
  • Champion automation, observability, and quality throughout the data lifecycle.
Who we believe you are

We’re looking for candidates who have a solid cloud-related engineering foundation and experience with big data infrastructure. We use several new technologies in the team and frequently collaborate with teams with different expertise. Therefore, flexibility, curiosity, and humility to both teach and learn are important personality traits. Some of these things might also describe you:

  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, and related services.
  • Passionate about driving our platform roadmap with senior sparing partners, in a small team with deep responsibility for our customers’ data
  • Familiarity with our current and future technology stack: SQL Server, Azure SQL Family, Fabric, Service Bus, Data Migration Tooling, Azure Key Vault, Failover groups, Log Analytics, Application Insights etc.
  • Comfortable with CI/CD and automation tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub).
  • Experienced in building scalable and resilient data platforms.
  • Skilled at architecting solutions across hybrid environments (legacy + cloud) and supporting teams through our transition.
  • Hands-on experience with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Strong understanding of API design, software architecture, and domain-driven design.
  • Deep knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy best practices.
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams could be of benefit.
  • Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English.
