Job summary

Reflection AI is seeking a Data Product counsel to lead legal support for data used in AI training and product development. You will translate US and international regimes, shaping policy and partnering with product, research, engineering and safety teams to ensure responsible, compliant models.

This build-stage role requires proactive judgment as laws evolve across jurisdictions and you will help design policies, review processes, and guidance that move us quickly while maintaining a defensible

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years advising on technology and AI-related regulatory risk.
• Experience with U.S. and international legal, regulatory matters for AI products.
• Ability to explain complex legal requirements to engineers, researchers, and non-lawyer operators.

Responsibilities

• Advise pre-training and data teams on data-use laws affecting AI training and development.
• Counsel on agentic and search-based product proposals and evolving area of law.
• Provide risk-based compliance guidance on data usage, IP, privacy, licensing, and AI regulation.
• Design and implement data integrity standards and compliance policies with data/training teams.
• Help establish a risk-based posture for AI-specific data requirements and controls.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to enable responsible model releases and regulatory compliance.
• Advise on data in partnerships and commercial transactions including data/model collaborations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate into practical guidance for leadership.
