Job summary

PulsePoint in Os is seeking a highly organized Reference Librarian to join our team. You will provide research assistance to library patrons, manage the collection of reference materials, and stay current with information resources.

Responsibilities include assisting patrons, selecting and weeding materials, developing online guides, and planning workshops to promote information literacy and research skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a library setting, preferably as a reference librarian.
• Strong knowledge of reference sources, databases, search techniques and information literacy principles.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide guidance on how to effectively use library resources.
• Manage the library's collection of reference materials including selecting new materials and weeding out outdated ones.
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop and maintain online resource guides and databases.
• Stay up-to-date on new information resources and technology trends in the field of librarianship.
• Plan and conduct informative workshops and programs for library patrons on various topics related to research and information literacy.
• Provide excellent customer service by resolving patron complaints or issues in a timely manner.
