Job summary

PulsePoint is seeking a Reference Librarian to join our Os team. You will provide research assistance to patrons, manage the library’s reference collection, and stay current with information resources.

The role requires a bachelor’s in library science, at least two years in a library, strong search skills, and excellent communication. This is a full-time, on-site position with a monthly salary of $1,100.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field.

Reference Librarian

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Reference Librarian to join our team in Os, a bustling city known for its rich culture and vibrant community. As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing research assistance to library patrons, managing the library's collection of reference materials, and staying up-to-date on current information resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide guidance on how to effectively use library resources
• Manage the library's collection of reference materials, including selecting new materials and weeding out outdated ones
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop and maintain online resource guides and databases
• Stay up-to-date on new information resources and technology trends in the field of librarianship
• Plan and conduct informative workshops and programs for library patrons on various topics related to research and information literacy
• Provide excellent customer service by resolving patron complaints or issues in a timely manner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a library setting, preferably as a reference librarian
• Strong knowledge of reference sources, databases, search techniques, and information literacy principles
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science or related field
• Experience with online resource management systems such as EBSCOhost or ProQuest
• Experience providing research assistance to diverse populations including non-native speakers or individuals with disabilities

Salary: $1100 per month
