Consultant radiologist for permanent position in Western Norway

We are recruiting on behalf of a hospital in Western Norway and are currently looking for a consultant radiologist for a permanent position in a well-established radiology department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a radiologist who enjoys working across a broad range of modalities in a modern and collaborative hospital setting, with strong interdisciplinary cooperation and a focus on professional development.

About the department

The radiology department consists of approximately 70 staff members and operates across four locations. The main hospital site houses all resident doctors and most consultants, and serves as the centre for the department's core activities. The unit is well-equipped and offers a wide range of diagnostic services, including:

  • CT

  • MRI

  • Ultrasound

  • Conventional X-ray

  • Fluoroscopy

  • Mammography and a dedicated Breast Diagnostic Centre

The department uses SECTRA RIS/PACS, in line with all hospitals within the Western Norway Regional Health Authority.
The consultant will take part in the on-call rota alongside resident doctors.

Qualifications:
  • Authorization to practice as a medical doctor within the EU

  • EU certification in radiology

  • Ability to work independently and take part in multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience with various modalities within general radiology

  • Commitment to patient safety and good communication skills

  • Proficiency in English and motivation to learn Norwegian, supported by our free Norwegian language school
