Responsibilities

• Marine Infrastructure Delivery: supervise year‑round quay, docking berths, and coastal loading facilities at the Øyen site.
• Subsea Pipeline Installation: coordinate fjord pipeline systems for tailings management.
• Contractor Oversight: direct marine EPCM contractors, divers, dredging crews, and heavy equipment operators.
• Environmental Permit Compliance: enforce monitoring per Norwegian Environment Agency permits.
• Quality & Engineering Control: inspect quay components and interfaces to ensure Norsk Standard compliance.
• Safety Leadership: conduct daily toolbox talks for marine operations in Arctic conditions.
• Contractor Interface: manage interactions for below‑grade conveyor and thickener construction scopes.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Quay & Fjord Construction Supervisor for the Nussir Copper Project in Kvalsund, Norway, to oversee marine infrastructure development at the Øyen industrial site. The role requires managing contractor activities, including pipeline installation and subsea tailings management, with a strong focus on environmental compliance and safety in a sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Marine Infrastructure Delivery: Supervise day‑to‑day construction of the year‑round, ice‑free quay, docking berths, and coastal loading facilities at the Øyen industrial site, including quay upgrades.
• Subsea Pipeline Installation: Coordinate deployment and stabilization of fjord pipeline systems for subsea tailings management, covering both on‑land and marine components.
• Contractor Oversight: Direct marine EPCM contractors, commercial divers, dredging crews, and heavy marine equipment operators (barges, pile drivers, crane vessels).
• Environmental Permit Compliance: Enforce strict environmental monitoring protocols mandated by the Norwegian Environment Agency and the project’s updated discharge permit.
• Quality & Engineering Control: Inspect structural work—including concrete quay components and mechanical equipment interface with ship loaders and conveyor upgrades—to ensure compliance with Norwegian building codes (Norsk Standard).
• Safety Leadership: Conduct daily toolboxes and safety briefings tailored for marine operations in high‑latitude, Arctic conditions.
• Contractor Interface: Manage contractor interactions for new construction of below‑grade conveyor and thickener construction scopes.
• Emergency Spill Response: Lead emergency spill response efforts.
• Marine Security: Serve as the key interface for marine regulatory security requirements, managing security of international vessels and crew.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5 to 10+ years in heavy civil or marine infrastructure (e.g., port developments, dredging, seabed anchoring).
• Experience in contractor management.
• Proven construction management skills.
• Emergency spill response capability.
• Familiarity with Norwegian environmental compliance standards.
