Job summary

Balchem in Oslo, Norway seeks a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, stability samples, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards at a modern manufacturing site.

You will use HPLC, IR, Karl Fischer, TLC and other approved methods, maintain instruments, and ensure data integrity while supporting stability programs and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory or process laboratory, preferably in industrial manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or chemical process industries.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC and wet chemistry analyses; GC experience is an advantage; chromatography software experience is beneficial.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality systems such as ISO 17025 or similar regulated environments is preferred.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of raw materials, in-process control, and finished product samples to verify compliance with established specifications.
• Conduct analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, IR, Karl Fischer, TLC, and other approved test methods.
• Investigate Out-of-Specification, Out-of-Trend and atypical results in accordance with approved procedures.
• Perform stability testing and maintain accurate stability study records.
• Record and review analytical results in compliance with established procedures and data integrity requirements.
• Maintain and calibrate QC laboratory instruments.
• Participate in interlaboratory comparison studies and method verification activities.
• Perform routine laboratory housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Carry out special projects and actively participate in cross-functional teams and site development activities.
