Job description
Project Director – lead the execution of Nordic AI factories

Fossefall is building Europe’s first bankable AI infrastructure platform, where Norwegian power and land are transformed into scalable, sustainable capacity for AI. As we move from development to execution, we are strengthening our delivery team with a Project Director who will take full ownership of project execution from EPC discussions to delivery and commissioning.

As Project Director, you will serve as the owner’s engineer and act as the central link between Fossefall’s management, EPC partners and third-party advisors. You will shape, negotiate and control the delivery process, ensuring that every project moves predictably from concept through design, contracting, construction and commissioning.

This role ensures that Fossefall’s projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specification, aligning technical execution with commercial goals and investor expectations. You will lead the interface with EPC and EPCm partners, manage third-party advisors and maintain milestone control across all project phases.

You will report to the CEO and work closely with the Property Director and future CFO on delivery, risk and capital allocation.

Main responsibilities

  • Act as owner’s engineer and overall project owner from design to commissioning
  • Lead EPC and EPCm discussions, negotiate and align contracts, scopes and delivery milestones
  • Establish project delivery structures, define interfaces and coordinate with local contractors and authorities
  • Manage and follow up external engineering, construction and technical advisors
  • Ensure milestone control, progress reporting and documentation aligned with investor and lender requirements
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules and quality assurance processes
  • Support the preparation of procurement strategies and tender evaluations
  • Secure alignment between technical execution, financing and offtake agreements
  • Drive risk management, HSE oversight and compliance across the delivery phase

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, construction management or a similar technical field. PMP or Prince2 certification is a strong advantage
  • Experience from large-scale data center, energy or industrial infrastructure projects (developer, EPC/EPCm or owner’s side)
  • Proven experience leading complex industrial or energy projects to completion
  • Strong understanding of contracts (FIDIC, EPC and EPCm frameworks)
  • Excellent coordination, documentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial mindset and ability to balance technical, financial and schedule drivers
  • Fluent in English, written and oral; Norwegian is a strong advantage

Personal profile

You are structured, pragmatic and execution-focused. You combine technical depth with business awareness and thrive in an environment where clarity and control are critical. You are comfortable leading teams, negotiating with contractors and representing the owner’s interests in every discussion.

We offer

A key leadership role in one of the Nordics’ most ambitious AI infrastructure companies. You will be part of a lean, high-performing team building critical infrastructure from the ground up. The role offers direct exposure to investors, EPC partners and regulators, and significant influence on how Fossefall delivers its first generation of AI factories.
