Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Systems Infrastructure (DSI) team. You will oversee data center and Cloud operations across multiple regions, orchestrating deployments, OS installations, and inventory control while driving automation and reliability.

The role requires hands-on Linux, Bash, Python, and Golang skills, plus experience with data center lifecycle, monitoring, and incident response in a global setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in systems infrastructure, data centers or CDN production systems.
• Hands-on with server architecture in labs or data centers.
• Experience in data center operations from OS install to decommissioning.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools for server health and networks.
• Automation experience with at least one project.
• Intermediate Linux proficiency.
• Fluency in Bash, Python and Golang preferred.
• Basic networking understanding.
• Experience coordinating global teams.
• Experience with project plans, scopes of work and multiple projects.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban/Scrum) and user stories.
• Preferred: Golang, REST APIs, Gin, Ansible, Load Balancer, SQL, Hive, Hadoop, ClickHouse, Redis, MQ.

Responsibilities

• Operate to enhance quality, reliability, efficiency and scalability of data center and Cloud ops globally.
• Improve lifecycle of infrastructure systems from design to launch to operation.
• Deliver tools to improve automation, reliability and scalability.
• Develop monitoring tools to improve availability and health of services.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents and perform root-cause analysis; implement preventive actions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure architects, PMs, data center ops, platform devs and customers.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures and knowledge bases.
• Participate in on-call rotations across continents and incident response teams.
