Job summary

Equinor is seeking an Inspection and Corrosion Engineer to safeguard process equipment and piping assets at our refinery. You will lead RBI activities, assess corrosion risks, and collaborate with operations, maintenance and external partners to optimize integrity and reliability.

You bring a Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical/materials/process engineering and at least 5 years in asset integrity, with strong analytical skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years experience in asset integrity, corrosion management, or maintenance of static process equipment.
• Knowledge of RBI, API/ASME standards, and SAP is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage and further develop inspection programmes for process equipment and piping systems.
• Perform and update Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) assessments.
• Monitor equipment condition throughout its lifecycle and contribute to effective risk management.
• Review and quality assure inspection reports, assessing findings and recommendations.
• Identify corrosion mechanisms and propose measures to reduce risk and improve plant reliability.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of turnarounds, shutdowns, and major maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams in relation to deviations, inspection findings, and technical challenges.
• Participate in cross-functional improvement and development activities related to technical integrity and asset life extension.
