Job summary

Mavenir in Oslo, Norway is seeking an experienced Network and Cloud Engineer to lead OpenShift deployments and SDN solutions for global customers.

You will design, implement, and troubleshoot OpenShift platforms, participate in architectural discussions, and guide teams across on-site and remote sites.

Candidates should have 8+ years in IT/telecom, NATO clearance, EU citizenship, strong Linux, scripting, and hands-on virtualization and networking expertise.

Qualifications

• Red Hat OpenShift platform is mandatory.
• EU citizen and NATO clearance required.
• 8+ years IT/Telecom experience and 4+ years in cloud computing.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (vSphere, Xen, KVM, RH virtualization) and cloud tech (OpenStack/OpenShift).
• Strong Linux/Unix troubleshooting and networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Adding new projects to OpenShift, writing blueprints.
• Participating in architectural discussions and guiding team on OpenShift components.
• Handle outages, coordinate with customers and partners, provide resolutions.
• Translate customer requirements into deployment plans and execute them.
• Raising and tracking issues with partner vendors.

Job Description

• Strong hands-on experience in RHOCP Platform, routing and switching and Cisco Network Hardware.
• Strong practical knowledge of network concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPN, network protocols, port configuration, link aggregation, spanning tree optimization, and performance tuning
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• RedHat OpenShift certification is a strong plus.
• Deep knowledge of Container technology.
• Should have very strong and deep knowledge of SDN (Software Defined Network)
• Develop and execute Proof of Concept and/or Deployment Acceptance test plan and test reports
• Develop implementation guide with configuration templates and deployment plan for the customers deploying SDN products
• Execute or assist our customer executing the deployment plan
• Provide technical direction to internal teams and customers based on customer business requirements
• Experience in Open Shift is Required.
• Experience in Unix operating system (Required)
• Experience in scripting (Preferred)
• Load Balancers: Troubleshoot hardware and software operation. Strong knowledge on all data flow through the load balancer

Key Responsibilities

• 8 + years of experience in the IT/Telecom industry and 4 + year of experience in cloud computing.
• Experience in working with virtualization technologies (vSphere, Xen, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization, Docker) and cloud technologies like OpenStack and OpenShift Platform.
• Strong working & troubleshooting experience in Linux/CentOS/Ubuntu.
• Strong working experience in L2/L3 networking protocol. Good exposure to IPV4 and IPV6. BGP / OSFP routing protocol.
• Should be conversant with CLI for OpenShift modules.
• Network Design and Planning for telco grade deployment.
• Understanding of core networking topology and devices (switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers)
• Experience on Shell Scripting or Python
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication and writing skills required.
• Anisble/Chef/Salt any configuration automation language is preferable.
