Job summary

Nord University in Bodø, Norway invites applications for 1–2 temporary 100% PhD positions in Social Science, specializing in critical perspectives on polarization. You will join the KEL research group and define your own project within the broad thematic areas of polarization, gender, ethnicity and equality.

The appointment typically lasts three years, with a possible four-year arrangement including 25% duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and completed master’s degree (120 ECTS) in a social science discipline.
• Solid knowledge of relevant theories and methods.
• Admission to the faculty’s PhD programme is required.
• Normally a B average in the master’s degree.
• Strong English skills, both written and oral.
• Final project proposal must be approved within three months of employment.
• Candidates who already have a PhD degree will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop your own PhD project within gender, ethnicity and equality.
• Contribute to the Research Group for Gender, Ethnicity and Equality (KEL).
• Publish findings and present at internal and external seminars.
