Descrizione del lavoro

The Department of Physics at the University of Oslo invites applications for a PhD Research Fellow in multi-modal microscopy and tomography of virus-infected organoids. The role centers on developing photonic chip-based super-resolution microscopy and quantitative phase tomography to study HIV-1 and VEEV infections in organoid models.

The candidate will perform correlative imaging with advanced data analysis, including AI-assisted segmentation, and collaborate across an EU project network.

Competenze

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in physics or engineering or related field in biomedical engineering and biophysics.
  • Solid hands-on experience with experimental optical instrumentation and microscopy systems.
  • Strong background in image analysis using Python or MATLAB.
  • Interest in multidisciplinary, international research collaboration.

Mansioni

  • Develop and adapt a multi-modal optical microscopy platform focusing on photonic chip-based super-resolution and optical diffraction tomography.
  • Perform correlative fluorescence microscopy with 3D quantitative phase tomography.
  • Generate datasets for analysis of viral infections in organoid models.
  • Apply AI-assisted segmentation and classification to image data.
  • Collaborate with other doctoral candidates and partner institutions.
