Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with a major independent project (≥30 ECTS) equivalent to a master’s thesis.
  • Strong English language skills (oral and written).
  • Experience with in situ and laboratory methods to measure phytoplankton/macroalgal biomass and health.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate.
  • Provide time-series of Key Environmental Variables (KEV) in Trondheimsfjord and growth dynamics of macroalgae.
  • Model species for natural habitats and growth cultures (kelp) and use algae as bioindicators of water quality.
  • Chemical characterization of seaweed biomass and development of sequential biorefinery.
  • Communicate with stakeholders along the cultivation seaweed value chain and stay updated on regulations.
