University of Inland Norway (INN) invites applications for a 100% PhD position in forest sciences within the Evenstad campus. The doctoral work centers on production forestry, with emphasis on forest management, carbon storage and climate-change resilience.

The position includes 25% teaching duties in the forestry department and requires enrollment in INN’s PhD programme. The successful candidate will join the Evenstad Forest Research Group, collaborating with supervisors and external partners

Qualifications

• It is required to meet admission to the University's PhD programme in Applied Ecology and Biotechnology.
• The master's degree should be in forestry or related subjects with strong academic background.
• For foreign education, approval may be required via HK-dir or an assessment during the application.

Responsibilities

• Engage in doctoral research within forest sciences focusing on management, carbon storage and climate change.
• Participate in teaching in the forestry department (25% of the time).
• Collaborate with the Evenstad Forest Research Group and other external actors.
• Develop research ideas in vegetation data collection, model development, remote sensing, or policy analyses.
