The University of Stavanger invites applications for a PhD fellowship in Energy Systems and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering. The PhD fellowship leads to a doctoral degree and offers training in AI-driven modeling, real-time optimization, and techno-economic analysis of modern energy systems, with emphasis on geothermal energy.

The position is for three years of full-time research training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Process Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Master's thesis grade and average grade at least B.
• Strong knowledge of energy systems and energy technologies.
• Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Conduct doctoral research in Energy Systems and Applied AI.
• Develop fast, accurate AI-driven models for real-time optimization of energy systems, focusing on geothermal energy.
• Collaborate with UiS Energy Central and participate in dissemination of research.
