Job summary

NTNU - Norwegian University of Science and Technology is inviting applications for a PhD Candidate position in Societal readiness for AI-supported Life Cycle Assessment of buildings. The role is based in the Energy and Environment Group at the Department of Architecture and Technology in Trondheim, collaborating with SINTEF Industry and NTNU Social Research.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant Master's degree in Architecture, Industrial Ecology, Science and Technology studies, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Excellent written and oral English language skills.
• Strong analytical skills and capabilities demonstrated through coursework or theses.
• Good programming skills in one or several languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R).

Responsibilities

• Carry out research of high quality on AI-assisted LCA in light of applied use, environmental governance challenges, and societal readiness.
• Publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and disseminate findings to a broader audience.
• Participate in the Energy and Environment research group at the Department of Architecture and Technology.
• Participate in international activities such as conferences and research stays at foreign institutions.
• Complete academic training consisting of coursework equivalent to at least 30 ECTS.
• Be prepared for changes to work duties after employment and pursue additional responsibilities as appropriate.
