Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is hiring Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors. You will work independently in clients' homes, following each client's plan of care and MaineTouch guidelines.

The role offers training, ongoing supervision, and opportunities for career growth (CRMA, CNA, DSP, CNA-M, Nursing pathways). Scheduling is flexible with day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Must be 17 years of age or older.
  • No experience required—training and support provided.
  • Active PSS certification in Maine or willingness to enroll within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and hygiene.
  • Support mobility and transfers with or without aids.
  • Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
  • Assist with meal preparation, serving, groceries, and errands per care plan.
  • Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
  • Observe changes and report safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Document accurately and on time; follow infection control guidelines.
  • Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
  • Respond to emergencies and follow service plan instructions.

MaineTouch LLC is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home personal care and support services to adults and seniors. PSS staff work directly with individuals in their homes to support daily living needs and promote safety, independence, and stability.

No Experience Needed - We Train and Support You.

This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, compassionate, and willing to learn. You will work independently in home settings while receiving ongoing support and supervision.

Job Description / Duties

Personal Support Specialists (PSS) provide hands-on, non-medical support to older adults and individuals with disabilities to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes or residential settings. Services are provided according to each client's authorized plan of care and MaineTouch guidelines.

As a PSS, you will:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene

  • Support clients with mobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids

  • Help with household tasks related to care, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens

  • Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errands as outlined in the care plan

  • Provide companionship and conversation and support daily routines or hobbies

  • Observe and report changes in a client's condition or safety concerns to your supervisor

  • Follow all instructions and perform only tasks listed in the client's service plan

  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time

  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions

  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MaineTouch policies

  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents immediately

  • Treat all clients with dignity and respect

  • Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules

  • Follow all MaineTouch policies and procedures and participate in required training

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 17 years of age

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, OR willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire

  • CNA (active or inactive) accepted

  • No experience required - training and support provided

  • Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings

  • Ability to work independent

  • Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities

  • Strong communication skills

  • Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent)
