Job summary

First Choice Nurses is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area. You will have the flexibility to pick up shifts and build a fuller schedule while working in leading acute care hospital settings.

Per diem positions offer day and night shifts with competitive pay and the ability to choose when you work, plus options for daily and weekly pay to suit your financial needs.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment for PCU patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years

Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
