About This Role

As the Patient Advocacy and Public Affairs Manager for the Nordic Region, you will be an integral part of the team, driving advocacy and public affairs initiatives across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission to enhance patient lives by collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to influence policy and regulatory environments, advocating for patient needs, and forging meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. Positioned within the External Affairs team and reporting to the Head of External Affairs, you will work closely with various teams to ensure the successful delivery of the public affairs strategy in the Nordics.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and implement public affairs strategies to influence policy, legislative, and regulatory environments across the Nordic region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, policymakers, industry associations, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Represent the organization in forums, conferences, and meetings to advocate for patient needs and organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Nordic and global teams to align public affairs initiatives with business goals.
  • Manage external consultants and agencies to ensure effective execution of public affairs initiatives.
  • Activate patient advocacy communities by building relationships with patient advocacy groups and supporting advocacy materials.
  • Demonstrate leadership in supporting patient communities by driving focus groups and connecting vocal patient advocates.

You are strategic and adept at analyzing complex issues, with the ability to develop effective advocacy strategies. You have a natural talent for building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, ranging from patients to policymakers. Collaboration comes easily to you, and you excel in coordinating cross‑functional initiatives. Your communication skills are top‑notch, enabling you to network and articulate ideas effectively. You thrive in managing multiple priorities and have a strong organizational and analytical mindset.

Required Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in the Nordic pharmaceutical industry, governmental bodies, or healthcare sector with demonstrated public affairs experience.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • In‑depth understanding of the Nordic healthcare system and policies.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language (Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, or Finnish).
  • Willingness to travel across Nordic countries.
Preferred Skills
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in managing social media campaigns and advocacy materials.
