Job summary

Alstom in Oslo is seeking a part-time Train Captain to act as the certified Train Captain and represent the Train Validation Engineer on board during validation, certification, test and commissioning activities.

You will prepare test implementation by confirming staffing, tools, on-board spare parts and train configuration, then coordinate all on-board contributors and give clear instructions to the driver.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of railway operations.
• Structured, organized approach to planning, execution, documentation and follow-up.
• Strong coordination skills with clear on-board instructions.
• Ability to work across test, commissioning, engineering, operations and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the certified Train Captain and represent the TVE on board during validation, certification, test and commissioning activities.
• Prepare test implementation by confirming staffing, tools, on-board spare parts and train configuration, then coordinate all on-board contributors and give clear instructions to the driver.
• Enforce the QMP, Level 1 inspections and applicable safety protocols for trains and train riders during dynamic testing.
• Oversee dynamic test execution and train movements, maintain the test book and produce dynamic commissioning assessments and failure reports.
• Support troubleshooting and site tests, sharing knowledge to strengthen team capability and safety culture.
• Work with cross-functional teams to solve operational challenges and progress Alstom products through the Product Introduction period.
