Job summary

Clements' Marketplace in Plymouth, MA & Portsmouth, RI is seeking full-time and part-time Meat Cutters. The family-owned business provides health, dental, vision, life insurance and retirement benefits. Cut, weigh, package, and merchandise beef, pork, and poultry; handle special orders and customer service on the sales floor.

Applicants should have prior meat cutting experience, be able to lift up to 80 pounds, and thrive in a busy retail setting with strong time-management skills.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience as a meat cutter.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Highly motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to multi-task and have excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Must be able to adapt previous cutting techniques to ensure the quality and consistency expected by the Meat Department manager and customers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cutting, grinding and packaging an assortment of beef, pork, and poultry items, using equipment such as meat saws, slicers, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives.
• Maintain proper product assortment, merchandising and product quality on the sales floor at all times.
• Ensure products are weighed and packaged properly according to COOL, USDA and company guidelines. Follow product date rotation to maximize freshness and quality of items in display cases and stored in coolers.
• Provide exceptional customer service in the department, including cutting special request orders, assisting customers on the sales floor, and answering phone calls to the department. May also receive, inspect and order products as needed.
• Ensure that proper safety, sanitation and food safety guidelines are met daily. Work closely with the Department Manager and Store Manager to maintain department goals and perform other duties as required.
