Job summary

SEB in Oslo seeks a Risk Officer to join Risk Oversight. The role monitors and reports risks across market, credit, liquidity and non‑financial areas for the Oslo Branch, collaborating with the global risk organization.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in economics/finance/engineering or a related field, proven risk management experience in financial services, and strong English communication. Occasional travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or another relevant field.
• Good understanding of market risk and practical experience analysing, monitoring or managing market risk exposures.
• Knowledge of market risk measurement, limits, risk drivers and relevant products.
• Interest in broadening expertise across credit, liquidity and non-financial risks.
• Strong communication skills in English; Scandinavian language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand the local business profile and inherent risks in the business model.
• Understand SEB risk frameworks for credit, market, liquidity and non-financial risks.
• Understand local regulatory requirements and their impact.
• Support the business in understanding risks and identify new and emerging risks.
• Assist in risk reporting for local management.
• Monitor risk limits and tolerances and escalate breaches as needed.
• Ensure knowledge of SEB risk management framework across units.
• Travel may be required to work with global CRO teams.
