Job summary

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace seeks an Operational Purchaser to join the SmallSat team in Norway. You will issue RFQs, place purchase orders, and manage supplier relations, enabling end-to-end procurement for space programs.

You will collaborate cross-functionally, negotiate effectively, and drive procurement excellence with a technical background and ERP experience. Flexible working options are available within a dynamic international space environment.

Qualifications

• Proactive and structured with a positive attitude.
• Educated in purchasing, supply chain management or technical background.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Strong negotiation skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Issue RFQs based on project and line needs and manage the process end-to-end.
• Place POs and ensure close follow-up with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the supplier base and monitor performance.
• Support strategic sourcing activities as needed.

Who are you?

• You are a proactive person with a positive attitude. You are structured and systematic.
• Educated within purchasing, supply chain management and/or technical background.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, combined with a high sense of ownership and responsibility and strong attention to detail and quality in execution.
• Good English language skills.

What Will You Do

• You will be responsible for issuing RFQs (Requests for Quote) based on project and line needs, managing the process end-to-end, placing POs, and ensuring close follow-up.
• Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with our supplier base, including monitoring supplier performance and onboarding new suppliers.
• Contribute to developing the purchasing department to meet future growth and challenges.
• Support strategic sourcing activities when needed.
