Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the operational performance of our facility in Norway. Applications and CVs are preferably in English.

You will lead daily operations, safety and quality, manage costs and people, and work with regional teams to drive continuous improvement. Fluent Norwegian and English are required for this senior on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years in customer relations, logistics and operational team management.
• Experience with Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and management.
• Knowledge of facility installations and relevant regulations.
• Experience with internal management systems and operational processes.
• Strong understanding of business performance, costs and key operational metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the facility and drive continuous improvement.
• Take overall responsibility for site performance: volume, quality, cost, service and operational efficiency.
• Lead and engage employees, providing direction, coaching and support.
• Champion customer satisfaction and ensure service expectations are met.
• Ensure full compliance with policies, EHS, safety, security and hazardous materials handling.
• Monitor KPIs and report on performance against objectives.
• Support achievement of facility sales, operating profit, volume and margin targets.
• Manage inventory and annual physical inventory.
• Support the facility capital plan and adopt equipment/tech to improve efficiency.
• Monitor and report KPIs and share best practices across EMEA.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and external support as required.
• Handle customer complaints and escalation of issues.
• Lead Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives.
• Implement HR processes focusing on engagement, performance management and talent development.
• Identify urgent operational, safety, quality, environmental issues with urgency.
• Communicate and mobilize teams; escalate issues appropriately.
• Travel occasionally to other Sherwin-Williams sites in Europe.

As the senior operational leader on site, you will be accountable for operations, safety, quality, customer service, cost management and employee leadership. You will provide day-to-day leadership across all site activities, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and Sherwin-Williams requirements while delivering operational, financial and customer service objectives.

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who enjoys working close to the operation, developing people, solving problems and driving continuous improvement.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the facility and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Take overall responsibility for site performance, including volume, quality, cost, service and operational efficiency.

• Lead and engage employees, providing clear direction, coaching, feedback and support to develop individual and team performance.

• Champion customer satisfaction and ensure the facility consistently delivers agreed customer and service expectations.

• Ensure full compliance with Sherwin-Williams policies and procedures, legal requirements, EHS, safety, security and hazardous material handling standards.

• Monitor operational activities and performance against agreed KPIs and business objectives.

• Support the achievement of facility sales, operating profit, volume and margin targets.

• Manage inventory levels and ensure effective stock management and accurate annual physical inventory.

• Support the facility capital plan and identify suitable equipment, technologies and working practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Monitor and report KPIs, improvement initiatives and operational projects, sharing best practices across the EMEA organization where appropriate.

• Oversee equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, coordinating external technical support where required.

• Support the management of customer complaints and act as an escalation point for operational and customer-related issues.

• Lead or support Health, Safety and Environmental improvement initiatives and ensure a safe working environment.

• Ensure effective implementation of HR processes, with particular focus on employee engagement, performance management and talent development.

• Identify and address urgent operational, safety, quality and environmental issues with a strong sense of urgency.

• Effectively communicate with and mobilize teams across all levels of the organization and escalation issues appropriately.

• Travel occasionally to other Sherwin-Williams sites in Europe as required.
