Job summary

A healthcare provider in Vestland is seeking an Operating Theatre Assistant to support the surgical team and assist with patient care in a busy operating environment. The role requires technical competency in theatre procedures, a minimum of GCE ‘N’ level or Certificate in Health Care, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. The Operating Theatre Assistant (OTA) plays a crucial role in supporting nursing and clinical staff to facilitate the efficient functioning of the operating theatre.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to support operations
  • Assist with pre‑operative and post‑operative patient care
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in operating and equipment rooms
  • Transport patients as needed
  • Dispatch specimens to relevant departments
  • Prepare and ensure the proper functionality of surgical equipment
  • Assist with patient positioning during procedures
  • Handle all equipment appropriately and with care
Requirements
  • Minimum GCE ‘N’ level or Certificate in Health Care
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Technical competency in operating theatre procedures and equipment
