Job summary

SAS is seeking a Senior Media Relations Manager for Norway to lead day-to-day media relations and act as the primary SAS media spokesperson in Norway. The role sits within the Communication, Public Affairs and Sustainability team and collaborates across Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.

You will manage proactive and reactive communications, build journalist relationships, draft materials, and support executive communications.

Qualifications

• Experience in journalism, media relations, PR, or corporate communications.
• Strong understanding of the Norwegian media landscape.
• Excellent editorial judgment.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills.
• Ability to translate complex matters into clear messages.
• Fluency in Norwegian and professional English.
• Experience from airline or transport industry is not required; curiosity and good judgment are key.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with Norwegian journalists, editors and media stakeholders.
• Act as a media spokesperson and point of contact for SAS in Norway.
• Handle incoming media requests and ensure timely, accurate responses.
• Identify and develop proactive media opportunities to strengthen SAS awareness.
• Develop and execute PR activities and campaigns in Norway in collaboration with Scandinavia teams.
• Draft, coordinate and support press releases, statements, Q&As, and media briefings.
• Prepare executives for interviews and public appearances.
• Support development of executive communications, including talking points and presentations.
• Contribute to crisis communications planning and execution.
• Monitor Norwegian media coverage and provide insights to management.
• Help ensure consistent messaging across markets and channels.
