Job summary

NextPartners in Os, Norway is seeking a Network and Systems Administrator to maintain and optimize our IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and virtualization environments. You will install and manage routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, handle user accounts and backups, and keep documentation updated.

We are hiring a skilled Network and Systems Administrator to join our team in Os, Norway. As a Network and Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization environments. You will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all network and system infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain network hardware and software including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
• Monitor the performance of network systems to identify potential issues
• Troubleshoot network and system problems and provide timely resolution
• Manage user accounts, permissions, email addresses, and security settings
• Ensure data backups are performed regularly and securely stored
• Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures
• Collaborate with other IT team members to plan for future upgrades or expansions
• Stay updated on new technologies in the field of networking and systems administration

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Network or Systems Administrator
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs etc.
• Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V
• Proficient in Windows server environments (2008/2012/2016)
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems (Red Hat/CentOS)
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
