Job summary

MaineHealth's NorDx division is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team. The role performs pre-analytical duties including specimen collection (phlebotomy), specimen processing, order entry, waived testing, and quality control, and serves as a liaison in patient settings.

Experienced and qualified applicants may receive a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus, prorated for Part Time or Per Diem positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• PBT/MLA certification preferred.
• One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

The Medical Laboratory Assistant II role represents the organization in all patient settings serving as a liaison and performs key pre-analytical functions, such as specimen collection phlebotomy, specimen processing, specialty testing, order entry, waived testing, quality control, and specialty collection.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's License may be required if role involves travel to other work sites/locations.
• Experience: One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A

The pay range for this position is $20.27 to $24.36 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
