Job summary

Odfjell Drilling in Bergen is seeking a Manager Marine Operations to lead the marine operational authority within MODU and to develop and implement design and operational philosophies and procedures.

The role includes audits of marine operations, assessment of technical conditions on offshore units, and response to critical events with a focus on compliance and competence in marine organization offshore. English language skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Master Mariner/Deck Officer Class 1 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with mobile offshore units.
  • Valid Deck Officer 1 certificates.
  • High level of competence in project execution and marine operation.
  • Good understanding of recent rig design and current rules and regulations.
  • Working language is English; strong oral and written English required.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement design and operational philosophies and procedures for MODU marine operations.
  • Audit marine operations and assess technical conditions on offshore units.
  • Respond to critical events and conditions; ensure compliance and quality of marine operations.
  • Verify competence within the marine organization offshore.
  • Manage framework agreements with key marine suppliers.
  • Oversee supplier network and experience transfer within the marine discipline.
  • Approve technical changes and obtain resources for marine-related projects.

Are you our next Manager Marine Operations ?

The Manager Marine Operations is the marine operational authority within MODU and is responsible for developing and implementing design and operational philosophies and procedures. This responsibility also includes audits of marine operations, assessment of technical conditions on offshore units and response to critical events and condition. The Manager Marine Operation is responsible for assuring compliance and quality of marine operations and verifying of competence in marine organization offshore. The Manager Marine Operation is responsible for framework agreement with key suppliers within own discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for MODUs operational marine philosophy and fleet wide solutions within marine discipline.
  • Discipline responsible for marine operations and relevant marine systems.
  • Responsible for assuring compliance towards rules, regulations and standards within marine discipline.
  • Competence development, requirement and definition of qualifications for marine offshore personnel
  • Ensure fleet wide synergies, experience transfer and lessons learned within marine discipline
  • Responsible for framework agreements and for supplier network marine suppliers.
  • Involvement and approval of technical change projects and modifications through technical clarifications and/or acquire resources from marine discipline

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Higher technical education (Master Mariner/Deck Officer Class 1). Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience related to mobile offshore units
  • Valid Deck Officer 1 certificates
  • The position requires a high level of competence within project execution and marine operation.
  • Good conceptual understanding of recent rig design and up to date knowledge of applicable rules and regulations
  • As the working language is English, good oral and written English skills are required
