Job summary

Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is seeking a seasoned Network Infrastructure Engineer to join the global infrastructure team in London to manage and maintain the QRT network, data centre LAN, and cloud connectivity with IaC and automation to ensure high availability.

You will build observability tooling, define SLOs, run post-incident reviews, and collaborate with DevOps, research, and engineering to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure for low-latency trading environments.

Qualifications

• Experience monitoring and resolving incidents across Low Latency LAN, Datacentre LAN, WAN transit, and Internet/cloud connectivity.
• Expert troubleshooting of network infrastructure with vendor support collaboration.
• Development of monitoring dashboards and proactive alerting improvements.
• Post-incident reviews to identify availability and reliability improvements.
• Automation-led BAU changes across research and infrastructure teams.
• Trend analysis to detect issues and capacity concerns.
• Defining SLOs to ensure high service availability.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure metric collection and visualization tooling.
• Release into production with high-quality review of changes.
• Opportunity to automate high-frequency tasks with cross-functional delivery.
• Awareness of industry trends in automation and cutting-edge practices.
• Cisco CCNP level knowledge or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve network infrastructure for low-latency trading environments.
• Manage incident response and root-cause analysis with vendor support when needed.
• Develop and maintain observability dashboards and alerts.
• Lead automation projects with Infra, DevOps and Research teams.
• Define SLOs and ensure high availability of services.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and tooling for deployment automation.
• Perform trend analysis to detect capacity issues and outages.
