Job description

We are strengthening our legal team with a hands‑on, business‑minded Legal Counsel to provide essential support to the organization’s legal team, assisting in a variety of legal and compliance functions. This role involves the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, day‑to‑day legal advisory across the organization, and support for corporate governance and compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

Provide day‑to‑day legal advice across key areas such as commercial, marketing, consumer, data protection (GDPR), and other relevant legislation.

Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, distribution, manufacturing, licensing, technology, and partnership contracts.

Advise Sales, Procurement, Product, Operations, and senior management on legal and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Identify and mitigate legal and contractual risks, offering pragmatic, business‑oriented solutions.

Enhance contract frameworks and governance by maintaining efficient templates, playbooks, and lifecycle management processes.

Advise on regulatory and compliance matters, including corporate governance, ethics, ESG, and Transparency Act requirements.

Assist in implementing compliance policies, risk mitigation initiatives, and internal awareness and training programs.

Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Coordinate and manage external counsel on specialized or cross‑border matters.

Qualifications & experience

Master of Laws (LL.M. or equivalent).

Around 5 years of relevant post‑qualification experience from a reputable law firm and/or as in‑house counsel, ideally within the tech, consumer electronics, or SaaS sectors.

Experience providing legal support across commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters in an international environment.

Strong commercial acumen and sound judgment, with the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic, and business‑oriented legal advice.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Norwegian is an advantage.

Experience with GDPR, intellectual property, consumer protection, and corporate governance is beneficial.

Familiarity with legal process optimization and digital tools (e.g., contract or compliance management systems) is an advantage.
