Job summary
AutoStore is hiring a Lead Engineer in Norway to head a small team across electronics, firmware and mechanics, taking technical ownership from concept to production. The role combines technical leadership with people management and collaboration with Product, Architecture, and Manufacturing to meet milestones.
The position requires 8+ years in product development, a strong background in electronics/firmware/mechanics, and experience delivering physical products for high-volume production.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering experience in product development, ideally with firmware background
- Strong technical understanding across electronics, firmware, and mechanical systems
- Experience developing physical products for serial or high-volume production
- Experience with project execution and engineering planning, including resources, milestones, and Agile ways of working
- Effective communication and mentoring across engineering, product, manufacturing, suppliers and stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of assigned sub-systems from development to production
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team across electronics, firmware, and mechanics
- Collaborate with Product, System Architecture, Project Management, Supply Chain, Test, Compliance and Manufacturing to meet milestones
- Support suppliers and production readiness while promoting standardisation and reuse
- Mentor and develop the engineering team, including 1:1s and onboarding
