We are partnering with an innovative technology company looking for a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to take ownership of the frontend architecture behind a complex, data-intensive software platform. This is an opportunity to lead the development of a highly interactive application used by technical professionals to analyse data, run simulations, and make critical decisions.

As the frontend technical lead, you will drive architectural decisions, establish engineering best practices, and help shape the long-term direction of a sophisticated React and TypeScript application. The platform combines large datasets, analytical workflows, rich user interactions, persistent state management, and advanced 2D/3D visualisation capabilities.

The Role

You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and subject matter experts to transform complex technical requirements into intuitive and high-performing user experiences.

About You

• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript.
• Proven experience leading frontend architecture for complex production applications.
• Experience building sophisticated software platforms involving analytics, simulation, scientific, engineering, or other data-heavy environments.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, application scalability, and software design principles.
• Experience with state management solutions such as Zustand, TanStack Query, Redux, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of performance optimisation for modern web applications.
• Ability to work across the full application lifecycle and collaborate effectively with backend teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.
• Experience with visualisation technologies such as D3.js, Plotly, Three.js, WebGL, or Canvas.
• Familiarity with engineering, scientific, GIS, CAD, simulation, or technical computing environments.
• Experience developing highly interactive software products used by specialist users.
