YOUR FUTURE ENVIRONMENT

We are in an exciting period of new opportunities in Europe. We are strengthening our international team and have recently won the contract to build the new section of the E18-E39 motorway in Kristiansand, Norway.

Eiffage, through its subsidiary Eiffage Génie Civil, has won the design‑build contract awarded by Statens Vegvesen, a company owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport, to build the new section of the E18-E39 urban motorway between Gartnerløkka and Kolsdalen in Kristiansand, Norway, at a cost of more than €234 million (NOK 2,755 million).

The aim of the contract is to increase the capacity of the main interchange providing access to the city centre and port activities of the country's 6th largest city. It involves the construction of a 1.4 km 2x2 lane motorway in a dense urban area, including the construction of 12 structures, the reconstruction of 1.5 km of track, as well as the redevelopment of the existing ferry terminal and the installation of electrical and traffic engineering equipment.

YOUR MAIN TASKS

As Laboratory Officer M/F, you will supervise all in‑house materials testing activities for the project, in coordination with the Quality team and the construction teams. You will ensure full compliance with contract specifications and Norwegian (NPRA) standards.

  • Organising the laboratory’s daily activities and scheduling of tests
  • Supervising the Laboratory Technician and ensuring all testing is carried out according to procedures
  • Ensuring the proper calibration, maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory equipment
  • Overseeing in‑situ and laboratory testing for soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, etc.
  • Validating test results and reports, ensuring compliance with standards
  • Coordinating internal and external sampling and testing when needed
  • Managing laboratory documentation and data traceability
  • Reporting test anomalies or non‑conformities to the Quality Manager
  • Supporting the preparation of quality documentation for handover to the client

You will report directly to the Quality Manager.

What We Are Looking For
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Geotechnics or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role on a civil works project (roads, tunnels, bridges)
  • Strong technical knowledge of material testing (soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregates…)
  • Familiarity with international and/or Norwegian standards (NPRA, ISO, EN…)
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); Norwegian or Swedish appreciated
  • Good knowledge of lab equipment, calibration procedures, and test protocols
  • Strong sense of rigour, organisation, and documentation
  • Comfortable working on‑site in a fast‑paced environment
