We are in need of a skilled interpreter who can fluently translate between English and Norwegian This position is for a contract job in Oslo Norway and the ideal candidate will have experience working as an interpreter in a professional setting

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation services between English and Norwegian for meetings conferences interviews and other events
• Must be able to interpret both verbal and written communication
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while interpreting
• Facilitate effective communication between parties by accurately conveying cultural nuances and idiomatic expressions
• Manage difficult or complex situations that may arise during interpretation
• Familiarize oneself with relevant terminology in various fields such as legal medical or technical
• May be required to travel for assignments within the city or nearby areas

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Norwegian languages written and spoken
• Proven experience as an interpreter in a professional setting
• Strong cultural understanding of both English-speaking and Norwegian-speaking countries
• Ability to maintain neutrality while interpreting sensitive or controversial topics
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen actively interpret accurately and speak clearly
• Time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Flexibility with working hours as some assignments may require evening or weekend work
• Bachelors degree in TranslationInterpretation or related field preferred

Salary

The salary for this position is $1800 per month
