Job summary

elasticStage Ltd. is hiring Installation Engineers to install, commission and test proprietary production machinery in a new Hemel Hempstead facility. This hands-on, site-based role sits within the Installations Team as the company scales its physical-music platform.

You will work across cutting-edge equipment, read drawings, ensure safety and collaborate with engineers to refine procedures. A strong manufacturing background is ideal.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ, BTEC or City & Guilds in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics engineering or higher.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as installation/service/field/mainte­nance engineer in automation or manufacturing.
• Hands-on installation, commissioning and testing of mechanical and electrical production equipment.
• Experience with building infrastructure systems: power, data, compressed air.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of machinery safety standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly and installation of proprietary production machinery.
• Commissioning and testing of production systems for smooth handover to Operations.
• Install and commission building infrastructure systems supporting machinery (power, data, air).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and controls issues during installation and commissioning.
• Support integrated commissioning with wider engineering team.
• Refine installation procedures as the team grows.

As an Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for installation, commissioning and testing of our proprietary production machinery with different technologies and complexities i.e. from printing presses to automation systems, in our new manufacturing facility in Hemel Hempstead. This is a permanent, site-based, hands-on role where you will be part of the Installations Team who are building the future of our company.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly and installation of proprietary production machinery
• Commissioning and testing of production systems to ensure seamless handover to the Operations team
• Installation and commissioning of building infrastructure systems that support the production machinery i.e. vacuum and compressed air systems, power supply and network systems
• Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical and controls-related issues during installation and commissioning
• Supporting integrated commissioning alongside the wider engineering team
• Contributing to the refinement of installation procedures as the team grows

• Level 3 NVQ, BTEC, or City & Guilds in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering or higher
• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience as an installation engineer, service engineer, field engineer or maintenance engineer in automation, FMCG, automotive or manufacturing industries
• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning and testing of mechanical and electrical production equipment
• Experience with installing and maintaining building infrastructure systems, i.e. power, data, compressed air
• Able to read and work from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Working knowledge of machinery safety standards and compliance requirements
• Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical faults independently and problem-solving

Work Location

• This role will be 5 days onsite, working closely with teams at our production sites, with initial training at Elstree and long-term at other future production in Hemel Hempstead.
