People join Howden for many different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. It’s what sets us apart, and the reason our employees have been turning down headhunters for years. Whatever your priorities – work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.

The role

We are looking for an HR Coordinator to join our Specialty division, supporting the delivery of high-quality HR services across the employee lifecycle. Working within the Specialty HR team, you will provide first-line HR support, ensure accurate people data management, and help deliver a seamless experience for colleagues and managers across the business.

Proactively run exit interviews for members of staff (excl. senior management), informing the HR Business Partners of any key business insights and feedback. Support with the occupational health administration process. Support the HR Business Partners with ER administration.

HR Systems, Data & Reporting

Maintain and validate employee records to ensure data accuracy across HR systems and that notifications are sent to the correct business stakeholders. Maintain, produce and prepare reports and analytics utilising Workday e.g. headcount, absence, talent, objectives etc. Create and maintain (international) Workday profiles, when required. Handle people data requests in line with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.

Employee Support & Experience

Support colleagues and managers with HR queries, policies, systems and processes, promoting and upskilling on self-service where appropriate. Support the employee experience of family related policies (maternity/paternity/parental leave). Support the implementation of initiatives to foster a positive work environment and enhance employee engagement.

Talent, Development & Performance

Support the identifying of training needs and assist in the creation of career development plans for employees. Support the annual compensation, promotions, and performance review processes. Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to support a seamless candidate-to-employee experience. Support (international) hiring processes and issues documentation, when required.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

Work with the Centres of Excellence and in particular the HR Employee Services team and HR Information Services team to improve processes, drive greater automation, and efficiencies. Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and operational efficiency across HR services. Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence to deliver effective people solutions and support business objectives. Any other duties as reasonably required.

Who we’re looking for

Experience working within an HR administration, HR operations or HR shared services environment is considered advantageous. Experience supporting employee lifecycle activities and responding to HR-related queries. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across HR and the business. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience using HR systems, with exposure to Workday considered advantageous. Understanding of payroll processes and the importance of data integrity within HR operations. Experience handling confidential employee information and working within data protection requirements. CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD is desirable. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. An inquisitive nature with the desire to seek things through to resolution. Good numeracy, organisation and administrative skills with excellent communication and attention to detail.
