Airswift is supporting a green energy metal mining company for a long term contract position, working on a green hydrogen and green ammonia project based in Western Norway.

We are seeking an experienced professional, who will be responsible for the preparation, implementation and monitoring of construction, commissioning and operational readiness of health and safety systems and processes associated with a major hazard facility.




Key Responsibilities and background:

• Develop and implement a scalable Health and Safety Management system for the Project throughout all phases of the project and operational lifecycle including the entire value chain.
• Prepare and implement project health and safety activities in accordance with health and safety systems.
• Plan and ensure relevant health and safety training and onboarding has been conducted to the requirements.
• Provide communications to the project in relation to health and safety messages.
• Maintain health and safety statistics and reporting for the project.
• Review specialised contractors health and safety documentation to ensure it meets legal requirements.
• Ensure compliance and conduct audits on the project to health and safety work practices including specialised contractors.
• Ensure investigations are conducted and reviewed where required.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure contractors are managed appropriately on site and that health and safety strategies meet regulator expectations.
• Drive a consistent approach to the management and application of Health & Safety management processes and its associated contractors.
• Participate in contractor management assessments and reviews as required.

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:

• Prior experience in health and safety construction role.
• Health and safety experience
• Experience working in and or managing health and safety at a Major Hazard Facility
• Experience working throughout all project life cycles including the entire value chain
• Previous experience working as a Koordinator for Prosjektering (KP) for the planning phase and Koordinator for Utførelse (KU) for the execution phase.
• Working knowledge of Norway Heath & Safety legislation, relevant standards and codes of practice;
• Extensive knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and maintaining Health and Safety management systems for a Major Hazard facility throughout project lifecycle
• Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent);
• Desired Investigator qualifications
• Desired Auditor qualifications
