Job summary

A leading hospitality recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Executive Chef for a prestigious hotel in Bergen, Norway. You will be responsible for leading a kitchen team of 20-30 and innovating menu offerings while ensuring exceptional food quality and hygiene standards. Strong leadership and creative culinary skills are essential. Experience in high-volume international hotel environments is preferred.

  • Train and develop kitchen staff, promoting continuous professional growth.
  • Collaborate with management to enhance guest satisfaction and streamline kitchen operations.
Event Responsibilities
  • Innovate and adjust menu offerings in alignment with the hotel's standards and guest preferences, particularly for large-scale events such as weddings and conferences.
  • Ensure the highest levels of food quality, consistency, and hygiene.
  • Expertly manage buffet setups, ensuring an appealing presentation and efficient service.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, promoting continuous professional growth.
  • Collaborate with management to enhance guest satisfaction and streamline kitchen operations.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or a Sous Chef ready to step into a Head Chef role.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a sizeable team in a high-volume, international hotel restaurant environment.
  • Creative culinary skills with the ability to adapt and innovate menus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service.
  • Experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants is highly regarded but not essential.
  • Deep understanding of buffet service dynamics, especially in the context of large events and gatherings.

The location is skiing resort in Trysil municipality, 3 hours of driving away from Oslo.
