Job summary

The Council of the Haida Nation is seeking a Citizenship Program Manager to lead the citizenship program, collaborate with the Haida Citizenship Table, Hereditary Chiefs and Haida Citizens, and develop the Nation's citizenship strategies. The role emphasizes data management, clan trees, and census activities within a dynamic Haida governance context.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education is an asset or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computing proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Haida culture, politics, language, governance and social structures.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and coordinate with Committees to plan a Haida Citizen registry.
  • Develop and implement processes to track, update and register citizens to clan trees.
  • Assist with clan meetings in G̲aw Tlagee, HlG̲aagilda, Prince Rupert and Vancouver.
  • Report regularly to the Ḵuljaad G̱aa.nga Citizenship Table as required.
  • Support engagement with Haida communities and citizens in citizenship work.
  • Coordinate a complete Haida Census every 5 years beginning in 2026.
  • Supervise and train Citizenship program staff.
  • Incorporate Haida culture into program initiatives.
