Job summary

Nodes & Links is seeking a senior finance professional to own the group consolidation, statutory accounts and tax compliance across UK, US and Cyprus. You will lead annual audits, manage external advisers and drive automation within a fast-growing deep-tech SaaS environment.

The role covers VAT, corporation tax, US sales tax, PSA, transfer pricing, payroll review, and AI-enabled controls. You will line-manage the Assistant Management Accountant and shape our internal finance processes.

Qualifications

• Consolidation of group accounts and year-end statutory statements across UK/US/Cyprus
• Lead annual UK/Cyprus audit and manage auditor relationships
• Oversee VAT, corporation tax, PSA, transfer pricing, US sales tax, and ESG reporting
• Review payroll for cross-border entities and maintain internal controls

What will you do in the role?

Group consolidation, statutory and audit

• Ultimately responsible for the month-end close across all group entities, prepared by the Assistant Management Accountant and ensuring reconciliations, accruals and journals are complete, accurate and on time.
• Responsible for the consolidated monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) to an agreed timetable, with clear commentary on performance and key movements.
• Own the year-end close and the statutory financial statements for the UK, US and Cypriot entities, reviewing them in line with the relevant local reporting frameworks and filing deadlines.
• Lead the annual audit in UK and Cyprus: own the timetable, the deliverables list and the auditor relationship, and drive queries through to timely resolution.

Tax

• Review the UK VAT returns prepared by the Assistant Management Accountant, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
• Prepare the annual UK PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) calculation.
• Review the UK corporation tax computations and returns prepared with our tax advisers.
• Support the UK R&D tax relief claim, working with advisers on the calculation and supporting documentation.
• Manage the US federal and state tax compliance for the US subsidiary, coordinating with our US accountants.
• Own US sales tax: nexus monitoring across states, registrations, and the operation of our sales tax software.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany pricing for the UK–US relationship, working with external advisers.
• Oversee VAT and corporation tax compliance for the Cypriot entity, coordinating with local advisers.
• Maintain a single group tax calendar covering the UK, US and Cyprus, with clear ownership and lead times for every filing.

Payroll

• Review group payroll across the UK, US and Cyprus, together with contractors, EOR, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.

Controls, systems and team

• Own the supplier onboarding portals, keeping company details, documentation and compliance information up to date.
• Act as the finance team’s AI champion, identifying and implementing automation and AI tools wherever processes are time-consuming.
• Review the ESG and climate reporting across the business prepared by the assistant MA
• Design, document and operate financial controls appropriate to our stage.
• Line manage, coach and develop the Assistant Management Accountant.

Who you are

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or equivalent, with meaningful post-qualification experience in a hands‑on accounting role.
• Multi-entity and multi-currency experience, including group consolidation.
• Experience preparing or reviewing statutory accounts and running or supporting an audit.
• Ownership of a tax compliance calendar and experience managing external advisers.

We would love if you have

• Experience working for a SaaS company.
• Exposure to US compliance (federal, state or sales tax), or a clear appetite to own it with adviser support.
• Practice training followed by an in‑house move.
• Experience in a VC-backed company through a funding round.
