Job summary

The Center for Global Development (CGD) in London is looking for a Programme Coordinator – Global Health to provide administrative, events, and communications support across the Global Health Policy team. The role involves processing expenses, coordinating travel, drafting and reviewing operational processes, and supporting annual reporting to funders.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, superb English writing skills, strong Excel abilities, and experience

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (for example Management, Business, Communications, Public Health, International Development)
  • Highly organized with a methodical approach to tasks and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage tasks and projects with a high degree of autonomy
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English, with experience of editing and/or proof reading
  • Strong MS Excel skills, and comfort working with CRM, such as Salesforce
  • Confidence, flexibility, can-do attitude, and intellectual curiosity in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Interest in global health, public policy, international development, or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager on program administration, including tracking progress of outputs and deliverables for the Global Health Policy program workstreams
  • In consultation with the Program Manager and the central Finance and Operations team, support the management of sub-contracts, carrying out due diligence and monitoring the performance of partners, as required
  • Maintain shared program folders, contract tracker, and the internal output trackers, ensuring information is accurate and easily accessible.
  • Plan and organize logistics for all internal and external Global Health Policy meetings and events, both virtual and in-person, acting as a point of contact for attendees, taking minutes, and scheduling and preparing agendas for monthly team meetings, as necessary
  • Process invoices and expenses for external consultants and partners, following up with the CGDE and CGD Finance and Operations team as required
  • Support the Program Manager in drafting, reviewing, or updating operational processes. Test and implement new processes as needed
  • Support the Program Manager on the preparation and coordination of annual progress reporting to funders
  • Attend monthly Coordinators' meetings, supporting the dissemination of relevant operational information to the wider Global Health Policy team
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of parties involved in projects, including CGDE staff, national and international consultants and academics, clients and research partners, and key donor partners
  • Travel may be required, subject to government advice and guidance
  • Perform other duties within the range of skills and abilities of the post holder, as necessary in support of the team
  • Communications support, under the guidance of the Senior Communications Manager:
  • Maintain media/press contact lists
  • Proof a range of communications materials, including press releases and website content, and draft global health newsletters.
  • Help draft engaging copy for social and digital channels, ensuring content is aligned with CGD's voice
  • Support the planning and delivery of communications activities by assisting with editorial calendars and forward scheduling
  • Prepare quarterly communications evaluations by collecting data and preparing PowerPoint reports
  • Prepare information on Global Health policy team activities for the monthly Board updates and bi-annual Board reports, working with the CGD Communications Team
