Job summary

Oslo University Hospital is seeking an anaesthesiologist for a 3- to 7-month assignment in Blantyre, Malawi, collaborating with QECH. The role focuses on anaesthesia and critical care, with supervision of registrars and bedside clinical work.

You will contribute to ICU activities, training, and development of procedures, aligned with CANECSA, while sharing knowledge with Oslo colleagues. Start options include February or August 2027.

Qualifications

• Publicly approved anaesthesia specialist authorization.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical practice in anaesthesia and critical care.
• Experience in paediatric anaesthesiology is beneficial.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen anaesthesia and critical care skills through supervision and teaching.
• Support and supervise anaesthesia registrars at QECH.
• Provide bedside clinical care and contribute to teaching.
• Organize daily clinical work and help develop procedures.
• Share knowledge with colleagues at Oslo University Hospital.
• Carry out administrative work for the project and Department of Global Health.
• Contribute to CANECSA curriculum alignment and QECH training.
• Support ICU development and nurse placement.
