Job summary

Autodesk Forma is seeking a Technical Program Manager in Oslo for Forma Design, reporting to the Chief of Staff. The role partners with Product, Engineering and Design leaders to translate priorities into clear outcomes and ownership across Forma and Autodesk.

You will navigate complex programs across teams, manage risks and dependencies, and turn technical discussions into decision-ready information for leaders, with autonomy to improve ways of working using AI and automation.

Overview

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join Forma Design and help us turn complex, cross-organization initiatives into clear, coordinated execution. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design leaders and teams across Forma and Autodesk. You will be a key counterpart to Technical Program Managers across the broader organization, helping translate cross-organizational requirements and dependencies into a way of working that fits Forma Design.

This is not simply a project-tracking role. You will create a structure that allows teams to move effectively: clarifying goals and ownership, connecting dependencies, identifying risks, facilitating decisions, and ensuring the right people have the right information at the right time. You will operate across different levels of the organization, from delivery teams to Product and Engineering leaders accountable for key programs and initiatives. You will be expected to navigate complex technical and program discussions independently, quickly understand their context and implications, and turn that complexity into clear, decision-ready information for leaders and stakeholders. Forma Design teams operate with significant autonomy. Success in this role therefore requires someone who can bring clarity and accountability without adding unnecessary processes or taking ownership away from teams.

• Serve as a key interface between Forma Design and teams across Autodesk, translating cross-organizational requirements and coordinating dependencies and commitments.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early and bring the right people together to resolve them.
• Engage directly with senior leaders, synthesizing complex technical and organizational information into clear trade-offs, recommendations, and decisions.
• Facilitate alignment when teams have different priorities or perspectives, influencing effectively without direct authority.
• Provide clear visibility into program health and progress while reducing coordination and reporting overhead for teams.
• Continuously improve ways of working, using appropriate processes, tools, AI, and automation to make program execution more effective.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with software engineering and product teams in a complex technology environment, including experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management, or a comparable role.
• Proven experience leading complex software or technical initiatives across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
• Technical fluency and a strong understanding of software development, with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on technical dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.
• Experience synthesizing complex technical and business information into clear recommendations, trade-offs, and decision-ready communication for leadership and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguity, identify what matters, and drive initiatives toward outcomes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Practical experience using AI and automation to improve program-management workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with cloud-based products, platforms, distributed systems, or other technically complex software products.
• Experience working in a product-led environment with autonomous or empowered teams.
• Experience partnering across Product, Engineering, and Design in geographically distributed organizations.
• Previous hands-on experience in software engineering, software development, or another technical role within a software product organization.
