Great opportunity to join our Nordic reinsurance team!

Gallagher Re is seeking a Property & Casualty (re)insurance practitioner to join its Nordic Facultative Reinsurance team. The position is primarily located in Oslo, but we work flexibly across borders and can consider Copenhagen or Stockholm for the right candidate. The candidate should have experience in the Nordic non-marine insurance market and have a strong command of technical, statistical and broking skills. The main role will be to support senior brokers in managing the day-to-day client relationships and assisting with new business production. This is an excellent opportunity to build an international career, with a global reach. Long-term objective is to develop into a senior client manager role.

How you\'ll make an impact

Day to day tasks will include:

• Understanding client needs, assisting with programme structuring and pricing.
• Managing relationships and negotiating renewals with the reinsurance market.
• Creating and growing relationships with underwriters in London and International markets.
• Providing front line client servicing.
• Assisting with business production (including tenders) by means of preparing presentations in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong liaison with analytics team in respect of financial and catastrophe modelling.
• Using financial and catastrophe modelling knowledge, understanding of complex wordings, project management skills and presentation production skills to assist the broker team and enhance our offering to clients.

About you

• Understand client’s financial and business environment, their opportunities and key issues and relate that to reinsurance solutions, through detailed knowledge of risk assessment and financial mechanisms.
• Sound knowledge of insurance products, all P&C lines of business, and how to link the original insurance cover to facultative reinsurance solutions.
• Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of insurance marketplace.
• Ability to grasp complex issues, persuasive and clear written and oral explanation of these. Strong analytical and numerical skills. A quantitative background is preferred.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines. Managing multiple workstreams effectively is critical. Some travel within Europe is expected.
