Job summary

Delivery Hero is seeking a Legal Counsel specialized in EU employment law to support the Legal Team in mitigating risks and enabling sustainable growth. The role focuses on platform work, worker classification, and regulatory compliance across multiple markets, including advisory to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate is an experienced employment lawyer with litigation background and in-house exposure, fluent in English and another European language, and willing to relocate to an EU market.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified employment lawyer in an EU jurisdiction with extensive experience in employment law, including at least 3 years in a law firm and strong litigation background.
• Deep expertise in platform work and worker classification, with hands-on experience interpreting the EU Platform Workers Directive and related employment legislation.
• Strong legal judgment with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across multi-jurisdictional teams.
• Excellent communication and drafting skills, including executive-level communication and clear slide presentations.
• Collaborative and impact-driven mindset, thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Proficiency in English (working language) and fluency in at least one additional European language.

Responsibilities

• Lead management of platform worker and rider classification risks globally with international employment lawyers.
• Monitor and manage high-profile litigation and regulatory investigations with defense strategies.
• Partner with Product, Tech, and Operations teams to understand delivery operations and tech stack.
• Support cross-functional teams exploring new business models related to platform work.
• Track regulatory developments and advise HQ and market Public Policy teams.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for senior management across the Group, with limited international travel up to 10%.
