Job summary

TierPoint LLC is seeking an Operations Technician I to support data center operations in a hands-on, entry-level role. You will gain practical experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, storage, and network equipment while providing remote support to customers.

This position entails monitoring power, cooling, and network performance, performing security walk-throughs, and following detailed procedures.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Windows-based applications.
• On-call and weekend shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
• Provide remote smart hands support for customer issues.
• Monitor and respond to power, cooling, and network alerts.
• Perform facility security and operational walk-throughs.
• Follow MOP for equipment and cabling maintenance.
• Escalate critical incidents to senior engineers when needed.
• Proactively manage ticket queue for timely responses.
• Escort and supervise third-party vendors and visitors.
• Maintain records of equipment changes and maintenance activities.
